We got 3d and regular. Our little snow baby was moving around waving, kicking and rolling over. It was so amazing to see.
Today is officially 13 weeks. It seems to be going by so fast.
Yesterday was Our 6 year anniversary, best anniversary yet!
On December 27th we had our third ultrasound and this one got to be in 3d. We were also so lucky to have family as the ultrasound technician. She was amazing!

Your Baby Your baby’s liver and spleen are now producing blood cells, and the pancreas is beginning to release digestive enzymes. Your baby’s liver accounts for 10 percent of the total weight, which is about a half an ounce by now. The muscular system and nervous system are responding to each other and junior is now able to bend, stretch, kick, and even make faces. These movements are not a response to any particular stimulation, but are occurring nevertheless. The sex of your baby is becoming more pronounced as well, and the kidneys are now producing urine from the amniotic fluid that he or she has ingested. Because your baby won’t be using the lungs to breathe until birth, all of the oxygen needed is coming from the placenta. Your Body This is the week that you will be able to hear the heartbeat on an ultrasound. You’ll notice that the heartbeat is much more rapid than your own, but this is normal. You may notice some bloating, which is a result of hormonal changes causing your digestive system to slow down. This is the time when morning sickness should slow down, although for some women it lasts even longer and possibly all the way through their pregnancy. If you haven’t noticed any visible weight gain, it may start showing in your hips at this point. Some women will also notice the Linea Nigra (a dark line down their abdomen). You may notice less frequent trips to the bathroom as well due to the fact that your uterus is shifting upwards. Tips While fish is a healthy part of your diet, there are certain types to avoid due to their high content of mercury, such as shark, swordfish and marlin. Tuna should only be consumed minimally, no more than once a week. Mercury can damage your baby’s nervous system. Proper dental care is important for your health and for that of your baby. A check-up at this point is a good idea, but be sure to let your dentist know that you are pregnant to avoid any X-rays. Poor dental health can lead to early delivery and low birth weight. Ps: had my teeth cleaned last week. Check! Last week was our 2nd doctor appointment, everything is looking good. I'm 0 negative so at 28 weeks I will have to head to the hospital to get a needle. Lol! This journey has been full of needles, you would think I would be over my fear..... But no.
24th I have to head for some more blood work to make sure the baby is healthy. Then in the 27th at 11:20 we have another ultrasound. To do some measurements on the baby. Thank you to everyone that has been so generous. Amy gave me my first set out maternity clothes. They are so comfortable, Trevor was wondering why she gave me pants that were wrecked. He didn't understand the belly band. Lol! Kirsten who gave me some ski clothes for the baby when they are older. Thank you! 12 weeks today!!!! I can't believe it! I will post the update. Today we had our 2nd ultrasound and we got to see the baby moving around. It was so amazing to see that little snow baby being very busy and bouncing around. We got a disk of pictures so I will post some pictures when we get to a computer. We were a few days to early to do some tests for the baby, so we will need to go back in a week or two. The clinic is booked with ultrasounds so we are on the cancellation list for another ultrasound. We got to see his or hers little feet and their heart beating.
This week was my last day for my drugs!!!!!! I couldn't be happier!!!!!! I just have to take my prenatal vitamins and folic acid. The new due date for the baby is July 7th. Wednesday we had our last meeting with Linda Tholl and she got us to read the report on us. It was so nice, but you are not allowed to keep it. She said it is so that we don't publish it somewhere and try and solicit ourselves for adoption. She approved us and sent all our paperwork to Kevin from social services. We are so thankful of the beautiful letters that were written for us, thank you so much!
We just have to finish our booklet on us and make some copies. I can't believe it, 9 weeks :)
Well this week has been much better, I hope that is a good sign. I haven't been feeling as sick! Only a week until our next ultrasound. I can't wait! Here is what the website says about nine weeks:
This pregnancy info is sent to you complements of Health & Parenting Ltd Your Baby Your breasts might be the ones that are sore, but your baby is growing nipples too this week. The little miracle inside is now equipped with the organs that will be filling up all those diapers when he or she is born. The head is now half the size of your baby’s body. That little tail that made him resemble a tadpole is starting to disappear, and with the right ultrasound Doppler you might even be able to hear the heartbeat. The fingers and toes are webbed right now, but this will disappear before birth. Even though your baby has fully developed eyes, it will be quite a while before they open, and even longer before you will find out what colour they are. Your Body Fatigue is likely still draining all your energy, but considering what you’ve got going on inside, take comfort in the fact that it’s perfectly normal. To add to your already tender breasts, you may notice your nipples are becoming a shade darker and may even have a lumpy appearance. Despite the increase in size that your partner may be noticing too, it’s probably a no-touch situation due to their soreness. This tenderness may begin to disappear as your pregnancy progresses and your hormones level out. Your uterus is about the size of a grapefruit this week and your baby is about the size of a grape. Even though you can’t feel it yet, your little one is moving around inside of you already. And you’ve just missed your second period. Tips Stay away from sugar snacks during the day as they will only give you a temporary energy boost and you’ll end up feeling more tired. It might make you relax in the evening to have a nice warm (not hot) bath, giving your partner the perfect opportunity to get some chores done without you watching him. Stay away from any raw foods that have the potential to carry listeria or salmonella. Your meat has to be cooked - that means no pink meat inside. Remember, whatever you put into your mouth is going to reach the baby via the umbilical cord. |
