Well it was a great interview and Melanie seems like the nicest person in the world. Shepherd Care started by a local pastor in 1980. He opened a maternity home and an adoption agency. It has been running for over 32 years. It is licensed and is HAGUE - if anyone is looking at adoption and you are looking at different agencies, you need to make sure that they are credited and have HAGUE.
The interview went over a bit about the agency and birthmothers, counselling, laws, birthfathers, wait list, what happens once we get accepted, when we are chosen by a birth mother and the birth of the baby. So much information!
Now we need to fill in our information with Kevin Kane with social services and go through our check list.
What we need to send to Melanie
1. Orginal Home Study
2. Post Placement agreement letter
3. Ministry Prior Contact check
4. Criminal Record Check
5. Driver Licenses
6. Health Insurance
7. Medical Reports
8. 5 References
9. Provincial letter of Approval
10. Application from Shepherd Care
11. House floor plans
12. Signed Adoption disclosure and affidavit of personal disclosure
13. signed Waiver of Liability
14. signed client rights

So this is where we must start. I have already phoned and contacted Kevin Kane in the summer. He sent me the International Adoption Application and we need to fill this out first before we go any further. Once we get approval from Kevin we can start on the rest.
Here we go the wait time we were given once all this paper work goes through is 9 months to 22 months. BABY TIME!
