8PM - this is the time, that I will take my pills. So far no side effects.
Hello,
Well I have looked into some of these drugs: Prometrium - Side effects - How it works Assisted Embryo Transfer Information As I was searching I just found this great site: Today we went back to the clinic to pick up our new prescription and pay the clinic.
Here is our next steps: Prometrium: I'm to take this pill for 10 days, 2 capsules a day. It is recommended that I take it before bed, because it will make me sleepy. This is to help my body get a period. After 10 days, I should get a period after 3-5 days. Once I get a period, on day 5 of my period, I will start the pill. If I don't have a period then I have to call the clinic. This will be on April 3rd. Cost is of my new drugs $56.01 April 3rd - I will know more about my next steps. Tomorrow I head back to Regina. The best way isn't always the easy way, but with God anything is possible! When you are down to nothing...God is up to Something! (Thanks Jackie) Thank you to everyone for their texted messages, emails, calls and wonderful wishes! Trevor and I have the most wonderful support team. We are very blessed! Thank you for being on this journey with us, with out you, it would be an even harder hill to climb. 7AM - Nasal Spray
8AM- Doctor Appointment, we walked into the clinic to a full house, almost no where for Trevor and myself to sit. 9AM - Blood work - staff is so nice 9:30 - Ultra Sound.....Bad news! We only produced 3 eggs. They would continue with treatment with 4 or higher eggs, ideal they want 10-12 eggs. Or they can give me an even higher does of injections but that doesn't guarantee more eggs. The doctor recommended we stop treatment and start over with higher drug dose. This way if we still end up with only 3 eggs, we have tried everything. So we weren't planning on bad news the very first day...Here is what Trevor said"Three is better than none." We have to stay positive! If at first you don't succeed try and try again. We will cancel and have to pay a fine of $1,000. We will be reimbursed, and have a credit for next round. This is an expensive trip to Calgary. 1:30 - Nurse calls for next steps: In my state of mind this is what I remember. So tomorrow she will have a form and calendar ready for me.
Heading for supper and long night of wine with my husband. We will continue to move forward. My sister said "That baby will come out perfect, sleeping through the night and doing laundry". The Best way isn't always the easy way. Nasal Spray
7AM 3Pm 11Pm Injections: On our drive to Calgary, Trevor and I pulled over to get a sub a Subway. We went into the bathroom (people are going to think we are junkies), I was so nervous for Trevor to do the injections. So far only nurses have done the injections. HE DID AWESOME!!! I say this every time, but it really didn't hurt. Until 2 minutes later, then there is a bit of cramping for a few minutes. Feeling good today. Andrea, Kurtis, Ryan and Jackie tied a knot before we left for our long drive. Just arrived at our little house and met Mona the owner. She is amazing and so nice, the place it beautiful. She has everything we need here. She even has a package with popcorn and goodies. I will post some pictures later. Tomorrow is our first appointment and she suggested we leave the house by 6:45 - our appointment is at 8am. Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!! I hope my dear friend Raelyn found someone to throw ice at.
Nasal Spray 7Am 3PM 11Pm Injections: We had to get to the pharmacy to get our injections cause we didn't have enough for today. I don't think I mentioned that yesterday, we had to use the left overs from the other tubes of Puregon. The nurse said that each cartridge has overfill by 75, and it did so we were good to go for yesterday. We picked up the Puregon 900 IC, and was able to use my heath benefits and saved money. It cost $1,025.00 for 900 IC (that is three days worth of injections), Great news, we got it for $664.00. Andrea gave me my injections, we had to go to the bathroom at the mall. That was pretty funny. Didn't hurt, but after wards it was a bit painful. Seems to get worse, but I'm pretty sure it is because of the 375 dose. How I feel: felt pretty good all day, had fun with everyone. I didn't spot today, that must be a good thing. Support: Nasal Spray 7AM 3PM 11PM How I am feeling: Doing OK today, but taking it easy. I'm not heading into work,(I'm still spotting). I feel bad for the 28 students that were suppose to head into the Broadcast studio. I will make it up to them. Thank you to my work, everyone has been soooooo supportive and helpful! I don't know what I would do with out them. Blood Work: We went this morning to the General Hospital to have our blood work done and they sent it off to Calgary. Just waiting to hear back. While we were waiting, we ran into Andrea....what a nice surprise. Injections: Calgary called and said we need to up the injections from 225 to 375. The only problem is I don't have enough. I only had 300 ICU. So the nurse called me back and said I could pick up 900ICI from Saskatoon tomorrow. Thank goodness we were heading there for a birthday party. Allie gave me my 375 injection, it didn't hurt but after a few minutes the medicine must kick in and my tummy hurt alot. Support: I'm overwhelmed with the amount of support form my family and friends, for all your words, prayers, and keeps sakes. They have made Trevor and I feel so blessed to have you in our lives. Had a wonderful visit with Michelle and baby Sophia. Then in the evening my parents and Trevors parents got together for supper before we left. Kim also came by to give me a hug. We also created a good luck baby blanket. Everyone tied a knot of love and support, thank you to everyone who tied a knot. We left room for everyone to tie one. Elishia and Dana came over to tie one as well. My sister Alia sent a package for me in the mail! She knows me so well, all my favourite things in a little care package. I LOVE sisters! I have the best ones!!! This is how wonderful friends can be! Michelle made this, she is so talented. "Happy IVF"! Amazing!!! What do you eat first the sperm or egg? Nasal Spray
7AM 3PM 11PM Injections: The nurse at the hospital ended up doing my injection, after the doctors gave the OK. It wasn't the same as Amy. She just jabbed the needle in, which didn't hurt, but Amy is gentle and talks me through everything. How I feel: I woke up this morning (EARLY), with upper abdominal pains. They won't go away, it made the drive in today hard, every bump just made it feel wonderful and I'm still pretty uncomfortable. I read the instructions from the PUREGON injection sheet, and upper and lower pains is a side effect, as well as everything else. LOL! Calgary: We have found a place to stay in Calgary (Thank you Jen), and it is a suite above the garage. The lady that is renting it has also gone through in vitro. She did 4 years ago and was blessed with twins. It is such a nice feeling, knowing we are staying at a place where someone has already gone through what we are about to go through. Calgary Home: Click Here Hospital: Well in the afternoon my tummy just got worse, to the point that I couldn’t stand or sit. I called Calgary to find out if this is normal, they said to take a Tylenol, but if it got worse to head to the ER to get it checked out. Trevor took me to the hospital, and they got me in right away. The only position I could be in was kneeling on a chair and resting my head on the bed. They did some blood work – well they tried cause they missed my vein for an IV. That HURT! They tried to get the pain down took a whole vial of morphine and that did nothing so they gave me Demerol, After a bit then I could finally lie in bed. Trevor, my mom and dad were with me keeping me company. My dad was sending emails for me. Thanks Dad! The doctors weren’t sure, my blood test and urine came back fine. They said I could go home, but if it started back up to come into the ER, cause it could be my gull bladder. All I wanted to do is go home, so we packed up and started to drive home…but the pain started to come back. I couldn’t sit in the truck. So 45-minute drive home wouldn’t work, Trevor dropped me off at my parents and I layed on the couch. After a bit my tummy felt a bit better and I ended up sleeping over. Thank family for taking such good care of me. Trevor: Thank you so much for being the world best husband. He didn’t leave my side at all, he held my hand, rubbed my back and made me feel as comfortable as he could. He has been my rock, he does everything with me through this journey, never complains and helps me feel so much better. I love you!!!! He drove home and did all our packing, and he did awesome! Thank you. Nasal Spray
7AM 3PM 11PM Yesterday Trevor and myself had to take our antibotics. We had to take 2 pills yesterday and will continue to take 1 pill at supper time for the next 5 days. Injections - Amy did my injections today, she has a great way of making you feel comfortable and relaxed. She is also so knowledgeable! Thanks Amy. Today I got to hold baby Andrew as she did the injections. We had to do two needles today, one for 75 and the other for 125. Injections and math class. How I feel: I was feeling a bit off in the morning, and I seem to be spotting all week. But today seemed to be even heavier than spotting. I will see what tomorrow brings. Support - went for supper with Jacqueline and she was so supportive, she filled me with hope and gave me something to carry with me. Oh Gerard.....Thank you! |
